I don’t think anyone I know watches the World Baseball Classic. I didn’t even know it had started until I saw some scores earlier today. It’s such a waste of time. The only purpose of it is so Bud Selig can say that MLB players participate in international competition. I don’t even know who’s on the American team except for maybe Pedroia and Youk. It was advertised at all because, here’s the kicker, no one cares. I read an article earlier today that contrasted the differences between the WBC and the world cup. The world cup has such a great following with countries following their every team’s move. The WBC is a joke compared to that. It’s not interesting at all to me and I don’t plan on going out of my way to watch any games.
